Reflections for Ragamuffins – Faltering Steps

Posted by Chris on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Love what Brenning Manning writes today in “Faltering Steps”.

I find comfort (perhaps perverse pleasure) in knowing that the rock(Peter) on which Jesus would build the Church sank like a stone.

Despite who I am, He still uses me.

That is an interesting statement. I definitely get what he is saying and I most definitely agree with what you have said despite who we are He still uses us. However I do not agree that Christ was telling Peter that He was going to build his church on him. This is a typical catholic belief thus declaring Peter the first pope.
