I need your prayer requests!

Posted by Chris on Sunday, September 14th, 2008

Hey all.

I’ve seen this done on other blogs and wanted to do it here.  I am spending Monday and Tuesday in some concentrated prayer times through out the days, and wanted to pray for you guys and gals who read my blog…whoever you might be.  Please don’t be shy and not respond.  Be anonymous if you must, but I am looking for pray requests that I can pray for you about.  So if you are reading this on my blog, or on Facebook please respond and share some requests that I can pray for you about.  It can be anything.  I’d love this opportunity to pray for you and if I know how to pray specifically, that would be much better!  Let me know!

James 5:13-16

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

    Chris,
    Thanks for doing this.
My former best friend from high school just finished her first round of chemo. She’s 24.
We haven’t spoken in 4 years. It’s tough because I want more than anything to encourage her ’cause this is freakin’ scary, but I don’t even know where to start. There is SO much baggage from our past and quite frankly I don’t want to add to her pain by dredging up the past.
So please pray for her (we share the same name), pray for complete healing and also pray that I would have wisdom as to how to minister to her whether it just be in prayer or something else.

    Hey Chris,
I just started teaching today, and could really use your thoughts as I adjust to being a teacher- that I would learn my students needs, and have wisdom in how to handle such large classrooms. This is a huge adjustment. Also ask the Father to give insight as to whom to invest in- whose hearts’ soil is soft and ready to hear the good news. Thanks cous.

If it’s not too late … some things need to get done today at work - could get messy. Also, I really need wisdom and stamina as I’m the executor of my mom’s estate (she passed away in May), my son is a senior in high school, I’m hoping to change some things at work, and I’m contemplating going back to school and/or launching some freelance work. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Thanks for doing this! I’ll continue to pray for your job search - anything else?

    Thanks again.

I’ll take all the prayer I can get. :)

My younger brother (21) is kind of stuck in a bad situation. He’s not a believer, and he hangs out with people/pumps himself full of media that is pretty anti-Christian. He’s so much smarter than the people he hangs out with, and he’s so gifted … and I want him saved.

However you want to pray: that God would touch him, that I would have wisdom and grace, etc.

    Thanks!

Hey, I’ll take some prayer too…
I have a doc appt today to find out about some abnormal lab results. A little nervous about that.

I have a 6-year lawsuit over a car accident I was in that is supposed to be wrapping up soon. I just want to get enough money to pay my doc bills (I was rear-ended and now have a chronic condition).

My hubby and I are just struggling through feeling pressure from so many directions and trying to figure out how to deal with it and face things better as a team.

    Thanks man!

I appreciate you doing this. I have a friend who had some damage from Hurricane Ike. She lives in Houston but evacuated to San Antonio. Her name is Corrine. As it turns out, she is going to need a new roof and before she can return to Houston, some major car repairs done on top of everything else. She is “Mama Gomer,” of Third Day fame.

My stepfather, Jim Fletcher, needs prayer. He is having some major heart problems. He thought he might need a heart transplant, but doctors want to do some other things first.

My sister, Katie. She will be having a child that is due in March, but is not married. She will be getting married in a few weeks. Over the weekend, her fiance was robbed at gunpoint. All they got was his wallet, but they cocked the gun on him.

Me. I have no idea what is going on in my life right now, but I need some heavy prayer. You can check out my last blog post, “a cry” for some more info.

Is four too many?? I appreciate your prayers so very much. Thanks for doing this.

Hey Chris I think that is great that you are doing this.
I guess a major one is for me to be gracious with my mom and for me to work on mine and her relationship.
Another one is just that I am sold out for Christ and that I don’t let public school get a hold of me and that I will be able to shine for Christ while I am at school and every where else.
    thank you so much!

    Hey Man,
    Always take prayer requests:

    1. I’m going crazy busy with 12 Grad school credits, full time work, church responsibilities and family. I need to be healthy and good at scheduling.

    2. My job has been slow and I’m on a commission only type of thing. I have bills that I have no idea how they are going to get paid.

    3. We need to fix our furnace before winter.

    4. I need wisdom on how to deal with some sticky situations.

    Thanks.

Hey Chris! I sure appreciate your servant attitude of taking prayer requests. How awesome and rare is that? Thank you SO much!
My buddy and I are missionaries and do a lot of work in Africa (Sierra Leone) as well as Mexico, Haiti and Israel. We are trying to establish our presence here in the US as well. So we would really appreciate your prayers for us to get speaking engagements and ministry opportunities in the US as well as for our big work in Sierra Leone. In SL, we work with streetkids, former child soldiers, prostitutes and the poor and needy. It definately needs a lot of prayer coverage! Thanks so much. We will pray for you also!
    Thanks again!
