As for passages of scripture, the only one that even comes close to my mind is in Matthew where the Pharisees as about the poll tax. Christ simply responds “render to Caesar what is Caesars, and render to God what is God’s.

And to anyone else thats reading this, a quick added though too is, God can use anyone, even the president of the USA. I’m just afraid of the agenda pushing desire to change ‘america’ into something that fits into the comfort of our little minds.

Seriously, I agree .. and I’m all about politics. I don’t know how much of a place the church should have. I can’t remember one time in the N.T. when someone converts to Christ and then tyrs to change the world by running for emperor.

Jesus gave us one way to change the world. “Demonstrate and Proclaim”. We’re supposed to go into all the world, demonstrating the amazing things that christ has done in us, and then proclaim that all of it is not because of us, but because of Him.

I think that if we would quit trying to change washington, we would do much better changing America.
