Capsized Canoe

I don’t know if you have ever been in a canoe, let alone capsizing one. I remember back to my younger years when I’d go to camp with my best friend Jeremy and we’d canoe, rowboat and walk around creeks for fun. One thing we thought was fun was sinking the canoe so we could flip it over and lift it up out of the water to “rescue it” or unswamp it as I think we used to call it. This was an easy process being able to stand in the calm water, that wasn’t to deep.

What would you do if it was swift moving water and in the process of the flip you got trapped under the canoe? Best think to do is stick your head up into the body of the canoe because if forms a pocket of air. This was something I was taught. This will help you ride out the rough area or get unstuck.

This is how I feel right now. I feel like I’m stuck under a canoe, my head wrenched towards the bottom trying to hang on and breath the limited oxygen supply I have. I look ahead at my immediate future and I see a wild ride ahead of me. Its a bit overwhelming and daunting as I look at what lies ahead. Life just seems to be over taking me right now. More so then ever, I think. Or perhaps I’m just more aware of it.

If you think about it…please pray for me.
