The Christian life definitely can not be reduced down to a list of dos and donts and when we do so we really are not being a true follower of Jesus Christ. Are quiet times the right thing to do yes, is praying right yes, and so on and so forth is it something we should just check off our list no. I think because we are human we are quick to think oh man God is punishing me because I did this or that. However for the same reason we should want to do our quiet times and pray and all of those things is the same reason God chastises us because of love. Do we really love Christ? Then we desire to follow Him does God love us if the answer is yes then we have to say He chastises us? God is not out to get us when we are bad but he also does not just overlook sin whether we are a Christian or not.

I have been looking into the life of David and am just astounded by the fact that God loved David so much even after his sin of adultery. However There was still consequences for that sin. God did not love him less but that does not mean there are no consequences. The same gos for us when we sin there will be consequences but God does not love us less.
